Scholarship Application

SHRM Fayetteville Area is a professional association serving human resource practitioners across Cumberland County and the surrounding region. Our members represent the full spectrum of the HR profession, from public and private sector employers to nonprofit and emerging organizations. We are committed to advancing sound HR practice, strengthening leadership, and contributing meaningfully to the community we serve.

As part of that commitment, the SHRM Fayetteville Area Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate students enrolled in accredited colleges or universities. The purpose of this scholarship is practical and focused: to help reduce financial barriers so students can continue their education without interruption. Scholarships are awarded on an equal opportunity basis, without regard to race, sex, creed, or religion.

Completed scholarship applications must be submitted no later than May 31 of the current year to be considered. All applicants will be notified of the outcome no later than August 15 of the current year.

As an alternative, completed applications and supporting materials may be emailed to the Chair of College Relations at fayettevilleshrm@gmail.com.

Important Scholarship Information

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Maintain a minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA).
• Submit an official high school or college transcript with the school seal affixed.
• Provide proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university.
• Submit a 300 word essay explaining why they are pursuing their chosen field of study.
• Agree to attend at least one SHRM Fayetteville Area chapter meeting within one year of receiving the scholarship and share how the scholarship has supported their educational journey.
